Hannah was so much fun to work with! She will always have a special place in my heart for being my first senior to be with me all year. We did 3 separate shoots to get all of the different seasons in during her last year of high school. We got to know each other so well and I wish her nothing but the best as she continues on to college!
Suprise, it’s TWINS! Adam & Marcus are hands down, my favorite twins at Millikin 😉 I loved getting to know them and work alongside Adam during their senior year. They always have fun together and are the least obnoxious Bears fans I know!
Alexus is a track STAR at Millikin and I am so grateful to be able to capture her senior photos. She was a joy to work with and the two of us became fast friends during her session. One of the things I love most about senior photography is hearing all about plans after graduation. Let me tell you, WATCH OUT, world because Alexus is ready to take you by storm!
I truly enjoyed getting to work with some of my amazing classmates to commemorate their friendship and graduation. We had a lot of fun with the confetti and champagne (I will definitely continue to use those in future shoots). Wishing the best to these grads of 2021!
Sean reached out to me and asked if we could do a surprise couple’s shoot.
Uhm, YES!
Couple shoots are so much fun and I hadn’t done one in so long so of course I jumped on the chance.
Sean and Isabella both go to Millikin and we’ve all had the chance to work together in a small business Millikin offers as a class. I’ve so enjoyed getting to know both of them and see how their relationship has grown.
Their shoot had so many inside jokes and shared smiles that were genuine and showed how much these two love each other.
I can’t wait to continue watching their relationship grow!
When I say a busy week, I mean a BUSY WEEK! Holy cow! These 9 days were so crazy!

On top of all the shoots that I had, this was also my finals week for college AND I moved into an apartment with my boyfriend.
Can you tell I have a problem saying no? LOL.
It was so, so hectic, but I loved every single minute of it. Of course we ran into some problems along the way.
*cue problems*
We moved into our apartment on Friday night and thought we would have WiFi included. Guess who was wrong?
You got it. Not only is there no WiFi in the entire building, but we also had to buy a router and wait for the company to set it up through the provider. All while I was trying to put galleries together for clients before graduation on Sunday.
Solution? The WiFi at the hotel my boyfriend’s family was staying at. It took SIX HOURS to upload two galleries while sitting in the lobby by myself. 10/10 do not recommend.
But, it got done and that’s all that matters. Clients had photos for graduation and it got done before leaving for Texas!
Posts are coming for each individual session and to recap the trip to Texas!
My name is Aubrey Staton. I’m from Central IL. Specifically El Paso, no not Texas.
I am a junior at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. I’m majoring in entrepreneurship (DUH) with a minor in digital media marketing. I play basketball and work one too many on campus jobs, oops.
In addition, I run my photography business (why you’re here in the first place) on the side, but am hopeful to start working full time after I graduate!
My love for photography started in high school when I begged my parents to get me a camera for Christmas. Thanks for listening Mom and Dad!! I’ve slowly been working on my craft and finding the balance between being a student, an athlete, a person, and a small business owner. And I think I’m finally ready to spend some more time on the business part.
I have a TON of experience doing senior sessions and family portraits and am slowly building my portfolio for weddings, engagements, and maternity photos. I would also love to get into new born photography. All that to say, if you want me to photograph it, I will!
I plan on using this blog space to share how sessions go and give updates about how my business is going (with a few personal updates sprinkled in for comedic relief).
If you ever have any questions about a potential session, something I have going on, or just want to get to know me a little better, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Thanks for joining from the beginning. Let’s see where this thing goes! 🙂
